Day 6: Learning to Slow Down... Sort Of

It's hard to believe it's only Day 6.

Today was Sunday, and I had made a promise to myself: no Outcrop Manor today. I was going to celebrate with my family, relax, and take a much-needed break.

Well... that lasted about five minutes.

I woke up around 6:00 a.m. and made the mistake of looking at my messages. Four hours later, it was 10:00 a.m., and I was still sitting in bed answering emails, booking retreats, responding to questions, and trying to keep up. I finally convinced myself that if I didn't get out of bed, shower, and get moving, I wasn't going to be ready before my kids arrived at 11:00.

When they walked through the door, they completely surprised me.

The music was blaring, they came in with flowers and sweet cards, and before I knew it, I was wrapped up in one giant family hug celebrating Outcrop Manor. It was one of those moments that just makes you stop and realize how incredibly blessed you are. Their excitement made all of the long days, stress, and exhaustion worth it.

Then Chris pulled out what seemed like enough barbecue to feed an army.

Knowing him, he wasn't just ordering lunch, he was testing food for Outcrop Manor! We wanted to see if this restaurant could be an option for one of our fully hosted retreats.

And wow... it absolutely can.

The meat literally fell off the bone. Everything was incredible, and the portions were unbelievable. Not only would it easily feed a retreat of 16 women, I honestly think we'd still have leftovers. It was delicious, affordable, and has officially made the list of potential meals for our hosted retreats.

Of course, I couldn't completely stay away.

I snuck my laptop back out for "just a few minutes" because a couple of messages looked urgent. A few minutes turned into more emails, more bookings, more questions, and more planning.

Then it was off to get my nails done, something that was desperately overdue. Even sitting in the salon, the notifications just kept coming.

What an incredible problem to have.

The response to Outcrop Manor has been beyond anything I imagined. At the same time, trying to keep up with every message while ordering furniture, coordinating contractors, designing spaces, and building an entire business from the ground up is... a lot.

So if you're waiting to hear back from me, thank you for your patience. I promise I'm getting to everyone.

And don't worry, there is still plenty of availability! We're booking quickly, but there are still lots of opportunities to join us.

When I got home, I sat back down for another three hours answering emails, sending confirmations, and organizing requests before I finally forced myself to close the computer.

Chris and I ended the night watching House of the Dragon. Well... he watched it. I think I made it through about the last five minutes before I completely crashed asleep.

Apparently my brain wasn't finished, though.

At 1:00 a.m. I woke up wide awake, suddenly remembering that I hadn't written today's blog... and immediately thinking about everything else that still needed to be done.

I guess that's life right now.

Busy. Exciting. Overwhelming. Rewarding.

And somehow... we're only on Day 6.

I honestly can't wait to see what Day 7 brings.
